The formaldehyde standard applies to all personnel of the funeral
home who may be exposed to formaldehyde at a concentration in air above
0.1 ppm and includes embalmers, removal personnel, custodial staff,
cosmetologists, and others. This formaldehyde training module is designed to provide you with the
information you need to work safely with formaldehyde while involved
with embalming operations and is required upon initial assignment,
whenever you have a process change such as a change in chemicals used,
changes in engineering controls or a new chemical exposure, and at least
annually thereafter.
